Claire’s Shingles and Pregnancy

I have had shingles twice now and I have to say that it is worse than child birth. The first time I had shingles I didn’t know what it was. Blisters started forming on my back and around my right side. They started to get painful and that is when I went into the doctor’s office. He prescribed some medication for me (that didn’t work) and gave me some pain killers.
The pain killers were my saving grace. They allowed me to somewhat function. They dulled the shooting pain that I had from the blisters. I could definately feel the difference when they started wearing off. It was a horrible two weeks and I am greatfull that my husband was able to work from home and be there for me for so much of that time.
The second time that I had shingles was a different case. I found the blisters on my back and went to the doctor right away. He agreed with my diagnosis of my second outbreak of shingles and told me that he wouldn’t give me anything for the pain or treatment of shingles. this time because I was five months pregnant. I hadn’t thought about not being able to take pain killers while I was pregnant and found myself breaking down into tears because i knew the pain was going to continue for the next two weeks and there was nothing I could do to stop it.
My husband started searching on the internet for shingles remedies but I had pretty much given up hope. Most of those things are so bogus but since he works on the internet as a profession I thought I would leave it up to him. He found one called vygone and decided to try it. I’m not sure why he did that over the other remedies out there but I am so greatful he did.
We got the device a few days later and as soon as it arrived we started trying it out. I felt a tingling sensation as the small amount of electricty passed through the blisteres. It was not a painful sensation, it was more like a relief. Within about a minute of using the zapper on the blisteres I noticed that the pain was going away. I couldn’t believe it we continued using the vygone on all the remaing shingles blisters and the pain completely stopped. I started to cry (I was pregnant and very emotional).
During the next week and a half we continued to use the device whenever the pain would start to come back and I have to say that it was amazingly effective. The sores never got bigger than when I started using the device and the pain would go away right after I used it.
I made my husband put this blog up because I want to share my experience with as many people as I can. I know how painful shingles can be and I know how horrible shingles and pregnancy would have been without this vygone device.
If you have friends that have shingles and are pregnant you should tell them about this device…. I suppose that if you have friends and they have shingles you should aslo tell them about this device.
